Burled Wooden Cigarette Box

This expertly hand-crafted cigarette box is early twentieth century in manufacture. The lid still fits perfectly, very tightly, and there is no warping, cracking, or other damage. The hinge is beautifully made. The rubbed finish is original and in excellent condition. The wood used has a beautiful burl grain and looks like birds-eye maple. The origin of this box is not clear because there are no marks, but many such pieces were made in Russia around 1900-1920. The box is 3 1/2" X 3 1/4" X 5/8" thick.
