This small quilt dates from between 1940 and 1960. It is from a "kit" which was sold commercially, but the maker had to cut out the pieces, applique them, and quilt the quilt herself. The applique work and quilting are finely done and all by hand. The colors are all pastels. In the center of this piece is a seated little girl hugging a teddy bear. Details, such as facial features, have been embroidered by hand with different colors of embroidery floss. This quilt measures 36" X 52" and was designed to fit a crib. The quilt is in fine original condition; there is wear along the edge and two small repairs (shone in the photographs); the wear is minimal. The quilt is 100% cotton and washable. It is clean and ready to present as a gift.
