String of Polished Amber Beads

These amber beads weigh only .28 oz. Amber is the lightest of all gemstones; it is so light that it will float in sea water. The beads are a clear reddish brown in color and well-matched. They are baroque in shape and slightly graduated. They are separated by small gold-filled beads on their string and finished with an old-fashioned screw clasp. These beads date from the 1930's and are probably from Poland. They are in excellent condition; only one or two shows flaking around the holes. The string is 17" long. They have recently been restrung using the original clasp.
