Victorian Mesh Gold-Filled Bracelet with Fancy Slide

This rose-gold-filled mesh bracelet dates from around 1880 or 1890. There is no date, but it is marked "W.E.W. Co. Pat App'd for" on the back of the slide. The bracelet is complete with slide, guard, and tasseled end. It measures 3/8" wide and expands to nine inches to fit over even a large hand. To tighten, just pull the tasseled end. The guard and tassel holder are delicately engraved; the fancy slide has engraving as well as raised work and is set with a showy red stone, perhaps a pink tourmaline, or possibly just glass, it is hard to tell. The stone is securely prong-set and in excellent condition. The slide measures 5/8" X 7/8." The bracelet is in excellent original condition.
