This quilt is a Depression Era creation, featuring an array of floral prints against a creamy white ground. The fabrics are mostly pastel prints combined with a rich teal blue, also used for the binding. All fabrics are 100% cotton and date from between 1920 and 1950. Some care was taken with the placement of the diamond-shaped pieces to keep to the color scheme. The quilt top was machine-pieced very carefully; all of the points match up. The quilt is heavy, winter-quilt weight, but hand-quilted nevertheless, at about 6 stitches per inch. The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no stains or worn-out fabrics. Slight overall fading is the only condition issue. It may be washed in the washing machine and dried in the dryer using warm or cool settings. This quilt measures 72" X 78." It is shown on a full-sized bed. This pretty pastel star quilt came from a Chicago area collection compiled during the 1980's and 1990's.
