Linen Tablecloth with Cutwork Ribbons and Bouquets

This unusual cutwork tablecloth has a four-times-repeated design of sprays of flowers and foliage trimmed with bows and joined together with ribbons. It is possibly an original design, as the scale of the cutwork design is unconventional. The fabric is fine ecru Italian linen, the embroidery a darker beige. The cloth dates from between 1920 and 1950. It is in excellent although not perfect condition; there is a small hole (visible in the photographs) and three spots where the embroidery is frayed. There in one minor stain about the size of a quarter near the edge (not shown). The cloth measures 52" X 67," an unusual size. It has been recently washed, starched, and ironed and is ready to use on your table.
