Ca. 1900, this 14k yellow gold framed, high-relief cameo is beautifully set and beautifully rendered.
The lovely lady wears a pearl necklace. The details are very well carved and her face beautiful represents that (still) late Victorian period (especially compared to more modern pointier nosed profiles of the 20th century).
The filigreed frame has 8 sides, each point accented with a fleur de lys. The pin back has an older lever set clasp as well as a swiveling bail which remains hidden when worn as a brooch and can be swiveled upward to receive a chain to wear as a pendant.
The cameo is deeply carved. The measurements are 2" x 1 5/8" and is 3/8" deep. The condition is excellent.
