Our LARGEST Volkstedt Jasperware Plaque with Angels and a Fairy!!

Frolicking by the light of the crescent moon, these playful cherubic angels are playing with a rarely seen female fairy (note the difference in the wings and her hairdo)! Truly extraordinary.

So much so that I HAD to have it in spite of the many chips to the rim features, a missing wing (on one angel) and several missing fingers or tips of fingers (toes are all there just fine)!!

It is a HUGE 15" X 13" X 3" deep. It is on a blue ground - THE most sought after color. From 3' away you cannot detect any missing pieces and so sit on your sofa and just enjoy. Please note that if you email me your email address I can send you more photos (request seeing a specific part).

The back side bears the Volkstedt sunburst hallmark (ca. 1896-1905) and there is the sturdy hanging ring typical on Volkstedt pieces.

If perfect, this plaque would be valued at well over $1,000.00. One of the finest Volkstedt ever produced. The subject, size, 3-dimensionality, etc. make this plaque a natural jasperware wonder!!

Often mistaken for Wedgwood, jasperware plaques like this were made to emulate Wedgwood jasperware. Because many of the best Volkstedt ones feature flowing cherubs and female figures, they are considered by many to be more beautiful than Wedgwood's!
