This pretty covered vase features 3 distinctive groups of flowers and foliage along with a carved pointed star lid.
The vase was carved from the cobalt outer rim back to the white inner ground. As you can see in the top down photo, the outer cobalt ring is quite thin while the inner white layer is much thicker. The glassmaker carved it back from the deepest outer layer of cobalt to a lighter blue handling of the delicate twigs and petals on some of the flowers.
The lid is almost like a stoppered top one might find on a perfume bottle or decanter but it is hollow and open. It has a shallow ringed foot.
The piece measures approx 5 1/4" high and across the widest part of the shoulder it is approx. 4" in diameter. The foot measures 1 15/16" in diameter and the neck measures 1 3/8" in diameter.
The vase is in excellent condition. On the very top of the lid (see photo with small white star) there is a gash-like indentation done during the manufacture of the piece. That area measures about 1/2" long and is 1/16th of an inch wide.
