Framed 1877 Harper's Weekly Engraving of Brooklyn Bridge Under Construction

This engraving is captioned, "From Tower to Tower - The Suspension Bridge over the East River - View From the Brooklyn Tower". The artist, Schell & Hogan is signed in the plate. It was taken from an 1877 Harper's Weekly article.

It has great historic interest for many different types of collectors - especially because of its aerial view of Manhattan. It is interesting to see the skyline from 1877 - long before any of the well-known skyscrapers were erected.

It is matted and framed and with one exception, in excellent condition. You will have to look closely at the photos to see a little water damage to the very bottom edge of the matte (the first photo shows it). We have taken that into consideration with the pricing and allowed $20.00 towards its being rematted. If we decided to do it ourselves or to have it done, the price will be raised accordingly.

The vintage frame molding has very nice carved detailing which compliments the print very nicely. It is in excellent condition.
