Cobalt Enamel on Sterling Swiss Watch with Matching Bow Pin by Nadine

Oh my! To find this jewelry piece at a price that allows us to bring this to you is amazing. This watch and matching watch pin is approx. 80-90 years old, and is in pristine condition AND is in running order!!

The darkened patina is phenomenal - an even deposit of tarnish on all the exposed sterling silver parts such that those areas are blackened. We know better than to polish that hard to accomplish finish and so it remains and although unintended, the result is very pleasing aesthetically.

The watchworks are Swiss made and 17 jewels. Made by Nadine, one of the hundreds of small Swiss watchmakers who put out phenomenal pieces prior to WWII. The watch keeps excellent time for about 12 hours. We tested this over a period of several days and it was consistently running and keeping excellent time.

The enamel is over sterling silver. The matching watch pin is marked on the reverse with a 925 (sterling) mark.

The gold washed areas are protected by the top coat of the enamel surfaces. The cobalt blue enamel is over a guilloche (machine-engineered) ground which is what forms that underlying ray-like pattern.

The pinback has a smooth operating safety clasp. The watch measures 3/4" in diameter. The pin is 1 3/8" across. Total length is 1 3/4".
