Certainly one of the most iconic duette designs manufactured by Coro, the huge emerald-like, large green faceted rhinestone eyes and enamelled feathery body is probably the most recognizable of all the Coro creations!
It is heavy gold-washed sterling silver with green, yellow, and brown enamel touched (on feathers, feet, branch) and is in excellent condition. Clear pave rhinestone accents. The patented duette pin mechanism is in original working order as are the clips on the backs of each of the owls. Together the clips measure approx. 2 1/8" x 1 7/8" and weigh 60 grams.
The patent was originally filed on July 20, 1944 and granted on October 3, 1944 to Adolph Katz for Coro.
Condition is outstanding but we must mention that the pins seem to fit loosely in the duet mechanism. It is very secure, but loose. Also the pin is slightly bent as shown in photos.
