Antique Wedgwood Cameo Brooch 18th or 19th Century

Very early jasperware brooch of beautiful lady in relief on a blue ground framed in a silver bezel. It has a basic old style c-clasp with the pin point extending beyond the rim which is typical of early pieces. It is marked Wedgwood on the reverse (no England). There is a circular impression below the name, but it is not accompanied by other marks so it is impossible to attribute a meaning to it as it might have just been a stilt mark. It measures 1 1/8" in diameter. We believe this piece dates from ca. 1775-1826.
