Kholui Handpainted Legend Box Russian Lacquer Papier Mache "Alyonushka and her Brother Ivanushka"

This box (one of many in a collection being listed) is from the Kholui area. It has a lovely gold background which provides a lovely contrast to the lady with goat in the foreground. It is known as the legend, "Alyonushka and her Brother Ivanushka". This box, which is in excellent condition, measures approx. 3" x 1 3/8" x 1 1/2" high. The boxes you see on my site were part of a large private collection I acquired several years ago and have decided to sell off now. We will consider reasonable offers.
