She is The 1997 Patsy Joan American Child Stamp Doll, she was designed in 1936 by Dewees Cochran, and comes to you all original with COA, a real jewel for the serious Effanbee Patsy Ann doll collectors!
She was first issued in 1936. This is what Effanbee has to say about this doll:
"We certify that this exact replica was cast from molds taken form an original composition Pasty Joan Doll, made by the Effanbee Doll Company in 1946. The costume is reproduced form an original Patsy Joan dress." Doll Classics Series V611k. Included is the Effanbee doll bracelet that is still in its original plastic bag.
She is 19" tall and made of all jointed of the highest quality vinyl, with a pretty blond hair wig with curls, beautiful deep brown sleep eyes with real eyelashes. She can even stand on her own! Her outfit is gorgeous, black/white checkered dress with black coat and felt black hat, she is simply beautiful. Included is in print the story of the American Child stamp Doll which explains its origins.
She is actually made of very heavy plastic that looks like composition. The AMERICAN CHILD is an exact reproduction of the one designed by Effanbee Doll Company in 1936 by Dewees Cochran. Molds for this doll were taken from the original all composition doll. Effanbee was honored to have the American Child Doll selected by the United states Post Office as one of only 15 dolls represented on the Classic American Doll Commemorative Stamp issue.
