This is a 21" primitive composition doll made circa 1920's by The Metropolitan Doll Company in New York City. She is very beautiful! Her molded blond curly hair is a copy of the German celluloid Dolls made by the Turtle mark Company of that time. She has composition legs, half arms and composition shoulder plate head, her body is cloth. She has very nice hair face colors. She was lightly retouched at the head, the legs show some compo cracks and her half arms are fine. The cute thing is that she has a hair ribbon loop on her molded hair to insert a bow, very, very cute. Her outfit was made by our late aunt many but many years ago. The dress is vintage, made of cotton with lots of flower appliques, she also wears a white under dress and white undies. Somewhere in time her shoes got lost. She is marked on the shoulder plate as; 'Metropolitan Doll Co." she is almost one hundred years old and is considered to be in great condition for her age.
