Prairie Chicken Porcelain Plate Design By J. J. Audubon
This item is a porcelain plate designed from a rendering by John James Audubon of the Prairie Chicken. The plate is 8" in diameter and has a teal outer edge trimmed on both sides by gold. The decoration is two males courting a female. There are mountains in the background with a lily in full bloom on the right side of the decoration. The maker's mark on the back reads "Dar-A-Bon, Howlett Hill Road, R.D. 1 Camillus, NY". There are no chips, cracks, or repairs on this pretty plate.
