Here is a unique and rare lidded carafe/thermos with an interior glass (mercury?) liner. This thermos was a memento from one of the rooms of "The Elton" a very fine hotel dating to the early 1900s in Waterbury CT. I believe the material from the thermos to be pewter, was made by the Landers, Frary, & Clark Co. New Britain CT, and is called The "Universal" with early 1900 patent dates. There is a seal on the face of the thermos with the top saying "The Elton, and beneath the seal " Waterbury Conn." The thermos weighs 1 lb 9 ounces measures approx. 6" to tip of spout, 4 3/4" from handle to spout, and 4" across the bottom. The thermos is in excellent condition with surface wear and a very slight almost imperceptible ding on the side We are happy to accept lay-a-ways!
