1800s Wood Covered Box Sinking HMS Eurydice March 24th 1878
Here is a highly unusual hardwood covered pillbox/trinket box. Inside the cover is a decal with the words "Eurydice 24th March 1878". This refers to the British frigate HMS Eurydice which sank at sea on that date killing 300 people on board. The box measures approx. 2 3/4" across, 1" deep and is in excellent condition with some surface wear. . We are happy to accept lay-a-ways!
