Here is a simply outstanding piece of advertising memorabilia in the form of an Ayer's oval pillbox containing three original petrified cathartic pills. This box is made of a very thin (balsa?) wood with a paper label covering the box. The trademark date is July 1883, manufactured by J.C. Ayer & Co. Lowell Ma. The box measures approx. 2" long, 1: wide, 5/8" deep and is in excellent condition with the exception of surface wear, light ripping of paper label, light staining/discoloration, and light fading. We are happy to accept lay-a-ways! We require a non-refundable 25% deposit within 10 days, and the balance to be paid in full within 30-60 days. We always combine purchases to save on shipping!
