Here is an extremely rare 1800s Victorian frosted opalescent spot resist tapered ribbed swirl sugar shaker. This pattern in known as "windows" (swirled), or "Hobbs Swirl", since it is probably made by the Hobb's Brockenier Co. These shakers are also called sifters, dusters, dredges & muffineers and were used to hold sugar, spices, grated cheese, and candy bits. This magnificent shaker measures approx. 5 1/4" tall, approx. 2 1/4" at the widest portion, and is in excellent condition with the exception of some minor rough spots along inside rim, and wear, tarnish, and some minor dinging to the lid.
