Here is a marked Northwood carnival glass "Daisy and Plume" pattern amethyst rose bowl with the rays interior. This lovely piece has 3 feet, and cups in to form the rose bowl! The iridescence is absolutely wonderful, with copper, blue, red, yellow, green, and purple, as you can see in the photos. The high iridescence around the rim shown in one photo can be found on one side of the bowl. It is approximately 5.25" high. This rose bowl is in excellent condition, with some light roughness on the edge of the feet likely due to firing.
Harry Northwood established the Northwood Glass Co. in 1896 in Indiana, PA. In 1901, he formed the Harry Northwood Glass Company in Wheeling, WV. In 1908 he began making iridescent glass, or Carnival Glass, which became his most popular product. Carnival Glass became the American craze for 10 years. Northwood is considered a genius in his field. He died in 1918, and the factory closed in 1925.
