Here is a superb antique Wedgwood majolica 9" plate in the "bird & fan" pattern featuring three amazingly colorful birds and three stylized fans. This same plate can be seen in "the collector's encyclopedia of majolica" by Mariann Katz-Marks page 113, and "Wedgwood Ceramics 1846-1959" by Maureen Batkin page 48 plate 89. There is an impressed diamond registration mark and some other impressed numbers which I cannot identify, but I would date this rarely seen plate to the late 1800s, and is in excellent condition with still vivid colors, and only some crazing.
