From the 1960s this silk evening gown is lavishly designed and beautifully executed. Beading, swirling silk, magnificent presentation. It is a so very soft peach color. It is simply stunning.
Size is medium : measurements in inches: Bust 34, empire waist 26 (not the natural waistline) hip free. Length from shoulder to hem 52" or ankle length.
Made in Hong Kong circa 1964 this dress features: an entirely hand beaded bodice in clear glass bugle beads, prong set, sewn on rhinestones, Aurora Borealis sequins and half pearl caps. Amazing work!
Ballroom dancing, pageant dress or a night at the opera; this gown is perfection.
The skirt joins the bodice just under the bust line an Empire Silhouette. This line falls to the waist in the back. There are bands of self fabric at the neckline, cuffs of the sleeves and under the bust with a bow accent.
There is a back zipper closing.
VOLUMINOUS double skirt of bias cut, sheer, sheer silk chiffon. This skirt is absolutely gorgeous. These two layers swirl like ethereal clouds. Each skirt has a sweep of over 500 inches!
Fully lined in coordinated, lightweight polyester this dress is a dream to wear. So comfortable and talk about necks popping when you swirl into the room... oh my goodness!
Label: Victoria Royal Ltd. Made in British Crown Colony of Hong Kong. The size on the label is 8. Please check the actual measurements given. This is more like a 10 / 12 in modern sizes. There is no room to "let out".
I have picture one small spot about the size of a pea. The dress could use dry cleaning to remove storage dust. No weak seams, holes or signs of significant wear.
