From the Edwardian era this White on White, cotton blouse features hand done lace, tuck work, and delicate machine lace at neckline and cuffs. size is for medium. Measures; bust 38, waist max 36, sleeve length 16, across upper back 16, length from center back to hem is 18 in back and 22 in front. These were meant to be worn loose so please, note the measurements may seem best for a large.
This is best for a medium size.
NO yellowing, despite my pictures. This fine cotton lawn is all white. Shadows may show, off color, at the neckline lace. Not the case.
Features: One piece blouse, all cotton with 3/4 set in sleeves, six rows of tuck work at shoulders both front and back. Deep embroidery surrounds fancy, open work, achieved by pulling threads (by hand) to form lace medallions on bodice front and sleeves. In fact there is a lot of hand work!
VERY DELICATE machine done lace at neckline and cuffs is in above excellent condition.
Loose fitting blouse with ties at back to pull in fullness at the waist ling. The ties, of course are adjustable. Closure in back center with ORIGINAL mother of pearl buttons. Buttons are covered.
The fabric is strong and can be worn with confidence. No odors, underarm stains or repairs to note.
Pictured is one button area that is torn out. This could be repaired with light weight iron on fusing fabric. There are a couple of rust spots next to hooks a/o eyes.
Close up pictures show one of the "spider web" areas of the lace is missing. Hand work with cotton thread could repair this. There may be a few missing threads in other lace work but, nothing major.
Price is commensurate with condition with is excellent vintage condition for a blouse over 100 years old!
