Dating from the late 1930s, this evening gown is made with rich pink, wedding weight, satin fabric. Size is medium to large: Measurements in inches: bust 36, waist 30, hip free best up to 40 inches, Length from shoulder to hem line is 61. These were worn TO THE FLOOR in length.
Please, note that the waist measurement is very important! This would be a difficult dress to alter.
Features: One piece floor length gown with side metal zipper, made from PINK satin. Not baby pink, more of a rosy pink.
Self fabric collar that dips to a "V" in back is attached to the neckline.
Short sleeves are set in and gathered to pipping to give PUFF. (very sweet)
Bodice is darted but, NOT boned.
The dropped waist has "V" silhouette both front and back. Measurement given for waist is at the NATURAL waistline and is 30 inches. Please, measure your natural waistline to see if this will work for you.
Self fabric, bustle at center back, may be stuffed or lay loose (shown both ways in pictures). It is made in two sections, placed on either side of the center back.
Floor length, full skirt gathered to the slightly dropped waist. Extra long and could be shortened but, not lengthened. Dress is unlined.
No holes, weak seams or signs of significant use. No underarm stains or odor. This fabric is very strong and fresh. Construction is excellent. This dress can be worn with confidence for many years.
Home tailored and very, very well done. Zipper works fine. I found a couple of small spots that would not photograph, they are so light. May show in full, strong sunlight.
Please, send any questions.
