Belle of the ball gown by Emma Domb, this late 50s evening dress is a stunning deep turquoise color, exquisite design and detail and in minty condition.
Measurements in inches: Bust 36, waist 27, hip FREE, length from shoulder to hem 57 inches. Please note the waist measurement is not easily adjusted may be only 1/2 inch or so and that would be a good deal of tailoring, given the construction.
Please check YOUR waist measurement carefully.
This deep turquoise taffeta has the "wisp .. wisp" sound when moved. An excellent fabric that stands out in all it's glory. The bodice is over embroidered with silver metallic thread.
The dart fitted bodice has a wide, scooped neckline, short set in sleeves, (perfect for a modest presentation). The floor length skirt is attached to the bodice at the natural waist line.
The sweeping skirt has gathering at each hip. This is soft gathering that adds tremendous volume to this already impressive skirt. It is a full circle PLUS.
The wide, self fabric, gathered cummerbund has extra long, extra wide "tails" falling from waist in the back. (sunlight / shadows may show in some of the pictures) NO fading or discoloration of this brilliant color.
The tails give the effect of a bird's wings crossed over the back of the skirt. So elegantly feminine!
Back metal zipper works perfectly. May need to add a couple of "eyes" for the hook closures on the cummerbund.
Clean and fresh. Strong fabric, no damage to note. Ready to wear.
Dress is displayed on the mannequin with a full crinoline, underskirt ; not included in the listing.
