Magnificent example of bridal gown from the Depression Era.
Features: ( shown on the wedding dress) : a slightly scooped neckline with shirring ( shown on the mannequin worn with dress clips!) OR the front neckline can be softly draped. The shaped bodice is gathered above the natural waistline.
The back panel of the skirt, which falls in a train, has a self fabric band that is brought to the front at the natural waistline. It can be held with a clip style belt buckle as shown on the model wearing pink, or in a self fabric bow as shown on the bride's dress.
The back of the bodice has a slit from neckline to above the waist and is draped with gathers. GORGEOUS!
The skirt falls smoothly in front with no center seam. There is gathering at the side back of the hip.
The set in sleeves may be the wrist length with a tight fit at the wrist, or short and elegantly draped.
It is such a treat to find this pattern in this size! It easily falls into the rare category. You can make a wedding dress, or evening gown, bridesmaid or maid of honor dresses by varying the fabrics and sleeve treatments.
