Vintage Souvenir Hat Pin 1950s Black Forest Charm Brooch

Hand painted vintage pin, collected by tourists in Germany in the lat 50s. Sharply molded image of a mountain chalet. These were collected by travelers as they toured Germany, and some surrounding countries and were worn on hiking hats.

Very colorful, in mint condition it measures: 1-3/4 x 1 inch.

Molded into the plastic are the words: O Schwarzwald, O Heimat which translates from German to : O Black Forest Home O.

There are molded "rings" at the bottom of the pin so the traveler could add tiny, dangling bells, balls or figures. These extra add ons are very hard to find. The very tiny pieces with metal rings for attachment were sold separately from the pins.

On the back are molded numbers and the words: Ges Geschutzt, which basically means Patented. Simple "C" clasp is embedded into the plastic.

This estate had several of these fun, old pins from the owners travels to Europe. I will be listing others and, I do have an even older example in celluloid from a different family. This molded house is a later plastic used after World War II.

Condition is mint. 1-3/4 x 1 inch

Item ID: j8477
