This is a magnificent, vintage Rhinestone Brooch with vermeil finish. That is a gold wash over sterling silver. In it's original presentation box this is a MASSIVE piece. 4 & 7/8 inches long X 1 & 1/4 inches.
Ultimate Valentine's Day gift for a collector of fine vintage jewelry. Purchased from the original owner, who kept it in this box for decades.
The motif is a single flower in FULL BLOOM, with petals slightly arched to "push" the blue center out. Absolutely exquisite design! This brooch says: "TAKE ME... I'm YOURS!"
The rhinestones are STUNNERS! The metal is an excellent example of vintage vermeil. This work of art features a HUGE sapphire blue, center stone that is faceted both front and back. The unfoiled stone shows spectacular color and light play.
This huge center cut stone is surrounded by emerald cut, crystal stones. These "petals" are foiled and in open back settings to give brilliant sparkle.
Tendrils of vermeil stems and gracefully folded leaves make the perfect presentation. The entire piece is undulating, arched and so LAVISH.
Please see all the pictures to appreciate the size and SPARKLE!
The brooch is marked sterling and has a gold wash ( vermeil ). It is almost 5 inches in length! It completely fills my hand; it is so massive.
Measurements are : 4 & 7/8 inches long X 1 & 1/2 inches at the widest point. Date of production is estimated from 1944 - 1948. It is not unusual to find original Eisenberg pieces to be signed only STERLING.
It is in the original box as found in the estate. The silvery gray leatherette box is lined in velvet and satin. The spring latch works beautifully. There is some wear tho the back edge of the box. It is marked inside in script " Eisenberg Originals".
Minor and I mean MINOR wear to the center stone. Under very close inspection with a loupe, I find a tiny, tiny nick to the edge of one facet.
ALL off the crystal rhinestones sparkle with fire. There is a smattering of wear to the foil. I am pleased how little this affects the stones. They are truly wonderful. The stones are all held firmly with fancy prong settings.
Minor wear to the gold wash at some points of the metal. This brooch is in fabulous vintage condition. It will be a highlight of your collection.
