Vintage Sewing Fabric 1920s - 1930s Cotton Quilt Clothing Cottage Decor
Ideal for quilting with a brightly colored print on a smoothly finished, tightly woven yardage. The white field is printed with small geometric shapes in: golden rod, soft red and depression green.
Never used, authentic OLD fabric from the Depression era. Still has it's original "sizing".
This is a printed cotton percale measuring 35 - 1/2 inches from selvage to selvage and 2 yards long. Late 20s to early 30s.
Note: that extra 1/2 inch of the width measurement is common for this era of woven cotton textiles. It was considered "shrinkage". Manufacturers expected the fabric to shrink about 1/2 inch when washed for the first time.
This print is era specific. It easily goes to the rare category. It has a smooth finish, excellent thread count and is ideal for quilting.
For a textile collector this is a special find. For a quilter, it would make one of a kind quilt blocks! This yardage has historically correct colors for your vintage bungalow, quilt or clothing.
Please, see my other listings for more fabrics and textiles from this collection; cotton, rayon and blends that date from 1900 to 1990. The lady had amassed a fabulous amount of textiles.
