Amazing 1940s rayon in deep red; just shy of 5 yards long. Lavishly printed with big white flowers and foliage in black outline. It is a deep red, not bright fire engine red. Very classy; extremely elegant. Perfect sewing material to make a sarong dress. What a delight.
It is displayed on a mannequin so you can see how fluid it is. It drapes and flows like silk. This is not a finished garment. Imagine this made into a 1940s Hawaiian themed evening gown!
It is 4 - 7/8 yards long x 37 inches wide from finished selvage to finished selvage. That is a great deal of vintage rayon to find in one continuous length.
Drapes and flows like a fine scarf. This is the cold spun rayon we drool over.
There are 3 VERY, VERY light spots. I've pictured them but, they don't show well in the photos because they are so light. They would probably disappear when hand washed.
This color is FIXED and will not bleed. The colors are VIBRANT. The print is gorgeous.
This textile is one piece of hundreds from a lifelong collection of fabric, lace, quilting blocks and supplies. The collection spans over 100 years of amazing textile examples. This piece is stunning. See my other listings for more pieces from the estate.
