Mid 50s to early 60s this Eames era specific drapery fabric. It has a softly draping "hand". Measurements: 46" from finished selvage to finished selvage and is 5 yards + 25 inches long. Bargain priced for the entire length.
This is a synthetic, with a slightly textured front similar to faille, and a smooth satin finished back. The burn test gives a synthetic result. It is likely a Rayon and Dacron blend. It could be a Dacron and Nylon Blend, although the fabric did not melt as nylon usually does when put to a flame. It is NOT fiberglass. This is a very elegant fabric it drapes and handles like a heavy silk.
Pattern repeat is about 24 inches. Figures printed in orange, taupe, brown, gold and black on a SLIGHTLY egg shell field.
The figures are hanging lamps, and atomic mid century block figures, lines and grids.
Never used, clean and ready for your personal project. Wrinkles will steam out or touch up with warm, not hot, iron. This is a great fabric to work with.
Please, see my other textile listings for more fabrics and textiles from a life long collection; cotton, rayon and blends that date from 1900 to 1990. This woman really believed in the mantra "she who dies with the most fabric wins." She was the winner.
