This amazing vintage sewing material is from the mid 20s to early 30s. Measurements: 3 & 3/4 yards long and is 36 inches from finished selvage to selvage. There is a quarter in some of the pictures for size perspective.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of vintage yardage I have ever offered. The black background is dramatic and very era specific.
The print is an artists rendition of glorious columbines / daffodils, and foliage. The images are likely taken directly from an artist's canvas.
Colors: white, soft yellow, shades of gray (really lovely) and soft greens. All of the colors except the black and white are muted and give an ethereal mood to the composition.
The 100% cotton has a smooth finish and is very soft. It is NOT QUITE voile, but has that kind of drape. This is a very lightweight cotton, that is ALMOST filmy.
Measurements: 36 inches from selvage to selvage by 3 & 3/4 yards long.
This length of fabric is unused, clean and ready to use or add to a collection. This is extraordinary fabric.
It is from the estate of a life long quilter and textile collector. In 35 years I have never seen such a wide range of material and textiles. It has been wonderful going through this woman's collection.
I bought this piece and several others a year ago. THEN she called me back to buy the entire collection. So, check my other listings to see more wonderful pieces.
If you EVER wanted to have historically correct colors in your "new" vintage clothing or home furnishings this is the fabric for you.
It would be a wonderful addition to a collector's portfolio of important textiles.
