19th Century Turkey Red Cotton Calico 24" wide Important Textile Collection

An early machine loomed fabric, this cotton calico is 24 wide inches from finished selvage to finished selvage. It is 5 yards long. You are welcome to order any amount BY THE 1/2 YARD. If you order more than one half yard it will be cut as one continuous piece. AND please, wait for me to adjust your invoice to reduce the shipping and optional insurance.

There is a small, all-over floral / butterfly print in yellow and black on a TURKEY RED field. black, gray and turkey red.

This is a very, very tiny print. These tiny images are 3/16th of an inch across. There is a coin in the pictures for size perspective.

The material has a tight weave, and unpolished finish It has it's original "sizing". Washing will soften the fabric. It has medium weight, is firm and smooth. It washes very well.

It is MINT, clean and ready to use. There may be a slight odor of moth balls. It has been carefully stored for many decades. Color will need to be "set" before using. It's easy to do and I will include instructions with your order.

For a textile collector this is a special find. For a quilter or quilt restorer, this fabric is the ULTIMATE!

It is from the estate of a life long quilter and textile collector. In 35 years I have never seen such a wide range of material and textiles. It has been wonderful going through this woman's collection.
