1960's Made In Capri Italy Mariorita Mod Print Skirt

This skirt was purchased in the 1960's from the Mariorita Store on the Isle Of Capri. It is located in the Capri Palace Hotel in Anacapri which is considered to be the most exclusive part of the island. It is difficult to describe the fabric as I've never seen anything quite like it. I'm guessing that it is a type of silk that has been covered with fringe. Hopefully my photos will give you an idea of how unusual it is. The lining looks to be made of voile. The skirt closes with 5 buttons down the side and at the waist with two hooks and eyes. I would say that it is a size 8. The waist measures 31" and the length is 26". The label reads Creazione (creation) Mariorita Ana-Capri. Excellent condition.
