"The Jackfish" Needlecase in Carved Walnut - Victorian

The sleek streamlined shape of the jackfish (a Pike to me in the UK) is so evocative of school time holiday hours spent on the local canal bank with a bent pin attached to my line. Lack of success led to me abandoning angling at the age of ten ! In this case the carver has well captured the menace of this predatory fish. It is a well preserved example of the figural novelty sewing tools all the rage towards the end of C19th. Worldwide insured air shipping include in quoted price. Nothing else to pay.
