Scottish Greek Key Design Silver Pin with Fabulous Green Stone

This pin has the most interesting stone I have ever seen. At first I thought it was malachite, but when you hold it up to the light, the light shines through and creates a gorgeous green glow. I don't believe malachite is transparent so I'm at a loss to identify it. It feels like a gemstone (very hard and cold) but for all I know it could be glass!

The setting is a lovely greek key design. It measures 1 1/2" across and is in excellent condition. It is only lightly polished - you could shine it up or keep the great patina.

This pin is well hallmarked as sterling and made in Glasgow in 1959. The actual town mark is cut off but the other marks are there. On the other side is the maker's initials which look like RA (Robert Allison).
