This is a genuine original magazine advertisement from a 1948 issue of the Saturday Evening Post.
This full-colour, vintage Packard Motor Car Company ad features a Melbourne Brindle artist-signed illustration of a stylish red Packard travelling through a winter landscape - a great example of automotive art. Look at the rounded lines and flashing chrome on this luxury automobile!
At the base of this advertisement are three models of Packard ("Out of this world... into your heart!"); the 130-HP Eight, the 145-HP Super Eight and the 160-HP Custom Eight. These classic cars had "Safety-sprint" acceleration and "free-breathing" engines - "born of Packard's wartime experience in building engines for the famed PT boats and for America's fastest planes".
Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era.
This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10 1/4" x 13 3/4" (approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in excellent condition (apart from a creased corner) and is eminently suitable for framing.
