This antique, colour lithograph depicts a Victorian scene with a marriage proposal theme. A young woman in a pink dress is deep in thought clutching a photograph of her young man behind her back. There is an open letter (a love letter, no doubt!) on the small writing desk before her.
This attractive, Victorian-era chromo card is Number 16 in a series from a "Book of Cabinet Chromos" published in 1881 by P.O. Vickery of Augusta, Maine.
This romantic, colour litho measures 4" x 6 3/4" (approx.). This sweet, little vintage print is printed on light cardstock and is blank on the reverse. The colours of this charming, decorative, Victorian scrap picture card are rich and vibrant. This piece of 19th-Century ephemera is in good condition with a modicum of the attendant signs of age & wear (i.e. faint tidemarks, slight rippling, crease w/ small amount of surface loss) and is eminently suitable for matting & framing.
