1948 Ads w/ SKI Theme - NABOB Coffee / PLAYER'S Cigarettes (on reverse)

These are genuine original magazine advertisements from a 1948 issue of Chatelaine (a Canadian women's magazine).

This full-colour, dated coffee ad features an artist-signed (Stephenson?) illustration of a couple of pretty female winter sports enthusiasts. One is a stylish, sexy skier with a red headscarf and wrap-around sunglasses/goggles, while a smiling blonde has a pair of figure skates slung over her shoulder. An "Exhilarating" graphic, indeed!

Or if one prefers, the reverse features another vintage ad with a skiing motif. The "Play Along With Player's" tobacco and cigarettes advertisement depicts a fresh-faced "outdoor girl...chic attire...ready and eager for the ski-time thrills ahead." The sporty schusser has her now old-fashioned equipment; boots, poles, and wooden skis.

This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10" x 13 3/4" (approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in very good condition with a modicum of the signs of age and wear and is eminently suitable for framing.
