These are genuine original magazine advertisements from a 1948 issue of The Saturday Evening Post.
This dated, full-colour Coke ad features a Charles Showalter illustration of a high school cafeteria scene (complete with school pennant) - "Lunch Refreshed ... Have a Coca - Cola". The kids are moving down the line picking up sandwiches, salads and cherry pie, while a couple of pretty girls are at a massive cooler containing bottles of ice-cold Coke.
Or if one prefers, the reverse features an ad for Chesterfield cigarettes with the stars of the 1947 Alfred Hitchcock movie, "The Paradine Case". Hitchcock directed the David O. Selznick production. The film's cast of actors and actresses endorsing the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. product are Gregory Peck, Charles Coburn, Ann Todd, Ethel Barrymore, Louis Jourdan and Alida Valli.
This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10 1/4" x 13 3/4"(approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in good condition with a modicum of age and wear consistent with a back cover ad (i.e. small edge tears, missing corner) but is eminently suitable for framing.
