This blown silvered glass bird Christmas ornament was made in late 1930s Germany or early 1950s West Germany. It's 6-1/2 inches long from beak to the end of the spun glass fibers tail and has an annealed hook at the bird's center back. A green tinted band is in the center with painted white comma stroke leaves. Behind and in front of the band are horizontal ribs tinted pink green, blue, and yellow. There's some darkening to the pike opening at tail area caused by normal loss of the inner mercury, otherwise the ornament is in excellent condition.
