This cute 1940s clown shaped child's feeding dish was made for Hankscraft by Red Wing Pottery. The clown's head is actually a stopper, so you can fill the dish with hot water to keep baby's food warm. The underside is marked Hankscraft U.S.A. with the curved underline that was exclusive to Redwing-made Hankscraft items (other pottery companies made items for them too, though the others usually aren't marked at all).
The cork lining on the stopper is worn but not completely gone. Otherwise the dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or damage. If you're buying for a little girl, I have a pink dish just like this listed in the shop.
