A beautiful stand-up or pop up style embossed mechanical Valentine card from the Victorian era, unfolding to reveal two young cupid or angel girls amid violets and lilies of the valley blossoms. Behind them is an elaborate gold gilt Art Nouveau border and the words Forever Thine.
The valentine is embossed in high relief and litho printed on heavy card stock. It's 4-5/8 inches high by about 3 inches wide. All hinges are intact, there are no tears, stains, or front writing. The back has a penciled from-to inscription. There are no marks indicating country of origin or maker but it was probably made in Germany.
