Victorian Era Cotton Knickers, Trimmed with Embroidery

This was what was worn under those long full Victorian skirts – simple cotton under-garments. These knickers, also called drawers, are made of white cotton fabric, with panels of cutwork embroidery above the hem to add a feminine touch. They tie at each side of the waist with a cotton tape.

The waist measures 40 inches around, and they are 25 inches from top to bottom. The measurement at the hip is about 54 inches. Vintage clothing does not carry size information, but new Google listing regulations now require a size listing, so please note that the measurements given in this description provide a more accurate idea of the actual garment size.

Condition is very good except for two brown spots (see photos) – the larger one is in the front near the crotch. These knickers have been washed and ironed, and come to you from our smoke-free home.
