Unique Vintage French Sterling Silver & Cut Glass 8" Covered Ice Bucket, Biscuit, Tea or Tobacco Jar
Lovely vintage French hallmarked sterling silver & cut glass 8" covered jar, perfect for use as an ice bucket, for biscuits, bonbons, tea, tobacco, cigars or....? Okay, so the uses are really going to end up being decided on by the new owner but the size is great for a variety of uses. The French Minerve or Minerva mark on the lid, rim and base, the tiny number "1" within those marks means that they are .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are for Henri Soufflot & Cie. (Company), Paris circa 1914. The style and craftsmanship are exactly what you'd expect from French silversmiths, world renowned for a reason. Crisp wheel cut body, not pressed, silver top & bottom and bead festooned accenting. Fabulous, don't miss it!
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but no dents, no damage or repairs to the silver. No chips, cracks or damage to the glass or crystal body. See pictures for all measurements.
