Delightfully Charming! 19th Century French Ormolu Lamp, Sculpture of School Boy, (not Bronze)
This is a conversion from an old gas lamp, folks, and dates to later 1800s, is very French, very wonderful! A little school boy, made very much like the sculpture of three we have for sale and which is shown here with this little lamp, and the two are just made for one another, I think. They are not spelter, but are a solid white metal casting that has a bronze patina, or in the case of the lamp, a gilt ormolu patina. The lamp 'arm' is a long stem with vined leaves and a tole floral head into which a small watt bulb will fit. Newly wired, US, it is perfect as a bookshelf or desktop accent light, or a night light in a guest bath or study? You'll find a perfect spot for it.
Very good to excellent condition, alabaster base fully intact, new wiring, tons of charm! Don't miss it, and you're going to want to ask us about the other sculpture, too, I just know it. Please do.
