Superb 9k Antique Georgian to Victorian Seed Pearl Necklace

A stunning antique Georgian to earlist Victorian seed pearl necklace in 'ready to wear' condition - rare to find. A lovely large and engraved 9k rose gold clasp for closure, working perfectly well. The beautiful old thing would have once been a part of an expanded parure, likely to have had 2 bracelets, a brooch, earrings, along with the necklace, and all fitted in a fabulous old leather parure case. Those full parure sets are museum pieces and rarely seen outside of one these days, however, and we're always thrilled to have nice wearable jewelry pieces from the original parure in any case, as they're rarer all the time. The seed pearls here are amazingly tiny - from 1.5mm to 3mm, and the 3-dimensional centerpiece and its flanking leaf-like adornments show themselves well with graduated sizes of seed pearls, all strung on fine old silk threads or perhaps horsehair, which was also used.

Very good to excellent condition throughout. No breaks in the stands of pearls - you'll be able to wear this one. Lovely as that 'something old' for a bride! The clasp is holding tightly, and is lovely. Matrix intact, perhaps one crack but it's very stable as you see it. Few if any missing pearls, but I'm nearly blind from trying to see if I can find and note any gone, so I'm simply going to mention the remote possibility, even though I don't see any. A superb 170 - 200 year old treasure that is RARE!
