Impressive antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era 7pc meat & salad serving set in the original fitted box, fabulous .800, or nearly sterling, silver & carved genuine horn handles and all in wonderful condition! A complete set of old French serving implements, rare larger size with the carving knive at over 12.5" in length. All with ornate Empire style .800 sterling silver ferrules (collars) and solid antler or horn handles! Tiny French boar's head hallmarks, designating .800 silver content so they're not quite at the .925 standard for sterling silver but solid silver nonetheless. Silversmith marks 'DL', likely for Desire Leprince but I'm not certain. Original fitted presentation box, black leatherette with a large 'BD' monogram & gilt embossed trim. A wonderful serving set, don't miss it.

Very good condition. No breaks, cracks or damage to any of the horn handles, only a very minor dimple or two to the sterling collars. Original steel blades, not stainless steel though and they do have some tarnish or corrosion marks. The box is entirely intact but does have thin splits to the leatherette cover in places.
